Inhalt:

The course is alternatively given as a tutoring activity accompanying an introductory course in the field of computational science and engineering, for example, in "Simulation and Wissenschaftliches Rechnen 1/2".
Within this framework, the participants present both contents and programming or theoretical exercises. Furthermore, they discuss with the participants of the respective course the solutions of the course assignments.
To understand the basic elements of the evaluation process, the participants elaborate an evaluation questionnaire employed for the internal evaluation of the tutorials and lectures, respectively.

Lernziele und Kompetenzen:

After participation in the module Supervised Teaching, students are able to autonomously plan and perform a lesson or exercise with a given content. They know the most important principles of good didactics and rhetoric und can implement them in the course. Furthermore, the participants are able to reflect their teaching on their own and together with students and colleagues.

The relevant scientific literature is the one of the corresponding introductory courses.

Organisatorisches:

Before giving the exercise classes ,the students have to take part in a at least one day didactics workshop.
In order to give the students feedback during the semester, a supervision including video taping of an exercise unit and feedback session is performed.
